Origami has had a significant influence on how I perceive print and pattern in 3D applications. Shibori requires stitching, pleating, complicated folding, and clamping before dyeing. After being dyed, the impression of the 3D object is left in a pattern rather than a form. The importance of these folds impacts the structure of the flat surface but also influences the line weight of the dye and direction of bleed.
